Retirement Income Security LLC (RISC), a Greenwich-based fintech/fin service startup, is the Stable Plus Shares Fund investment manager. Since founded in 2016, RISC is committed to innovating retirement financial products and providing services that assist older Americans in reaching financial security and improving their well-being. Since its founding, RISC has focused on developing Stable Index Plus ETFs and Virtual Annuity, an innovative alternative to traditional annuities. RISC is developing a CBOE FLEX options-based trading system in collaboration with a leading Python-based trading algorithm consulting company.
OUR PEOPLE
Eugene Lee, Ph.D., CFA, Founding CEO & Investment Manager
Eugene Y. Lee, Ph.D., CFA, founded RISC in 2016 and currently serves as CEO and Investment Manager. Dr. Lee received his M.A. in mathematics and Ph.D. in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He taught at the University of Missouri-Columbia and the University of Rhode Island for several years before he founded Integrity Global Asset Management, Inc. in 1999 and founded and managed the “Internet Index Fund.” Following the sale of Integrity Global Asset Management, Inc., he founded Momentum Capital Management, Inc. He managed some of the hedge funds established by Millennium Partners and Augusta Advisors LLC and separately managed accounts. Dr. Lee was chosen as one of the next-century business leaders in the State of Rhode Island by the Providence Journal, a leading newspaper in the State of Rhode Island, in 1999. He has published many articles in prestigious academic journals such as Econometrica and the Journal of Financial Economics under his legal name, Yul W. Lee. Dr. Lee is a CFA charter holder and an enthusiastic LA Dodgers fan.
Maria Kang, MA, Director of Information Technology
Ms. Maria Kang attended the University of Texas at Austin as an undergraduate with a BA in mathematics. Ms. Kang continued her study for an MA in math education at the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Kang started her professional career as a system analyst at IT department of the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Kang advanced her career and took various system analyst positions at Metlife, Fleet Bank (now part of Bank of America), and Fidelity.
Christopher Lee, MD, Health Advisor & Healthcare Analyst
Dr. Christopher Lee is a board-certified Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Trauma at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. As an undergraduate, he attended the University of Notre Dame and the Keck School of Medicine of USC with alpha omega alpha honors. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at UCLA and an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Medical Center, where fellow residents and staff awarded him Clifford H. Turen, MD, Memorial Teacher of the Year. Dr. Lee was selected to be one of Super Doctors Southern California Rising Stars in 2021 and 2023. His current clinical interests include pelvis and acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures, and nonunions/malunions. Dr. Lee sees patients in the clinic, performs surgery at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and provides a free consulting service for Virtual Annuity investors who need long-term or critical illness care. He is an ardent New England Patriots fan and resides in Santa Monica, CA.
Katherin Sheen, Controller
Ms. Catherine Sheen graduated from Boston College in Accounting as an undergraduate. Ms. Sheen started her professional career as an auditor at Ernst & Young in NYC. And then, Ms. Sheen took various accounting positions at Warner Music Group in NYC and Royal Bank of Scotland in Stamford, CT. She lives with her husband, Colin, and two daughters in New Cannon, CT.
